Medical Retina

Medical retina is the speciality that focuses on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye, called the retina. It is aimed at monitoring and managing disease through the use of medications and laser.

    • Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

    • Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Oedema

    • Central or Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

    • Central or Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion

    • Central Serous Chorioretinopathy

    • Cystoid Macular Oedema

    • Myopic Choroidal Neovascular Membrane

  • Mr Kumar will perform a detailed dilated examination to assess the retina and establish a diagnosis. Using advanced scans and imaging, he will then recommend the most appropriate management, which may include careful monitoring, injections, laser treatment, or eye drops.

  • Certain eye conditions, such as AMD and diabetic macular oedema, may require a course of injections to resolve the fluid build-up at the back of the eye. There are several options available for the type of injection, which can be discussed in further detail during your consultation.
