Why wet AMD requires urgent treatment
Wet AMD is a sight-threatening condition that primarily affects people over the age of 50. It develops when abnormal blood vessels grow beneath the macula—the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision used for reading, driving, recognising faces and other everyday activities.
These abnormal blood vessels are fragile and prone to leaking fluid or blood, causing swelling and damage to the macula. Without prompt treatment, this can lead to irreversible scarring and permanent loss of central vision. Although peripheral vision is usually preserved, untreated Wet AMD can significantly affect independence and quality of life.

TREATMENT for Wet Macular Degeneration (AMD)
